Lane Kiffin gets injury question, walks out on press conference

USC coach Lane Kiffin might have set a record today for the shortest press conference given by a college football coach.

By now, you probably know that Kiffin doesn’t want to talk about injuries and was willing to go to great lengths to make sure they’re not reported. But there’s not much Kiffin can do when he’s asked about them directly... except walk out on the press conference 30 seconds in... which was the case after Wednesday’s practice. When asked about a player’s participation in practice, Kiffin said “I don’t know” before adding “I gotta go” and walking off.

You can view the video below, which was taken by FOX Sports reporter Lindsey Thiry. The question, which names a specific player, has been muted to comply with USC’s practice policy.

Most media members have already come down hard on Kiffin on social media for being immature about the whole thing. But, until I’m informed otherwise, I’m just going to assume Kiffin had some ill-advised leftovers this morning in a box marked “El Nacho Grande.”
