APWe noted this morning that TCU running back Waymon James would be a game-time decision due to a knee injury he suffered late in TCU’s win over Kansas this past weekend.
Unfortunately, the decision has been made, and it will impact the player well beyond this Saturday’s matchup with Virginia.
The school confirmed Wednesday afternoon that James would miss the remainder of the 2012 season due to the injury. The exact nature of the knee issue was not revealed, although the speculation has centered on his ACL.
The injury occurred in the fourth quarter as James planted his foot to make a cut.
Through the first two games, James leads the Horned Frogs with 168 yards and has scored one of the team’s two rushing touchdowns. Matthew Tucker, the team’s second-leading rusher, is expected to take over the starting job.
But at least they have Randy Shannon.
