Starting Georgia Tech WR abruptly leaves program

Jeremy Moore started the first three games of the 2012 season at the wide receiver position for Georgia Tech.

Apparently, those will be the last the Yellow Jackets see of the player.

Tech head coach Paul Johnson confirmed Wednesday that the redshirt junior has decided to leave the football program. Other than personal reasons, no explanation was given for the departure.

“He had some personal reasons, said that he’s struggled with it before,” Johnson said of the situation behind the departure. “It’s not the first time he’s thought about it. I just wished him well.”

In Tech’s run-heavy offense, Moore had caught three passes for 64 yards this season. Those were the only receptions of the 6-3, 180-pounder’s career, and they all came in a Week 2 win over a FCS-level team.
