‘Cuse down a starting corner vs. Gophers

Minnesota’s attempt to start a season 4-0 for the first time since 2008 may have gotten a wee bit “easier” thanks to a health issue for this weekend’s opponent.

Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone confirmed Friday morning that starting cornerback Brandon Reddish will miss the game against the Gophers due to a lower-leg injury. Reddish suffered the injury in last weekend’s win over Stony Brook.

Reddish did not practice at all this week due to the issue, making the decision to sideline the sophomore not the least bit surprising.

After playing in 12 games as a true freshman last season, Reddish started the Orange’s first three games this year. The good news for the Orange is that Reddish will be replaced by veteran Keon Lyn, who started nine games at corner in 2011.
