Knocked out of Missouri’s first SEC game with a knee injury, veteran offensive lineman Elvis Fisher will miss his second conference game this season.
Fisher took to his Twitter account Friday to announce that he is not traveling with the team to South Carolina for Saturday’s game against the Gamecocks.
1st time not traveling in 5 years. This is weird to me. But the Tigers know what they have to do to come back to como w/ a victory! #MIZ

Fisher injured the MCL in his right knee earlier this month against Georgia and was said to be out indefinitely, though he thought a return was possible in the next month since the injury did not require surgery. Obviously, he’s not well enough to return against South Carolina. However, Fisher is a captain for the Tigers, so his apparent absence from the travel roster is a bit unexpected.
Fisher missed all of last season with a ruptured patellar tendon, but received a sixth year of eligibility from the NCAA in February.
