Nittany Lions down a starting defensive lineman

Coming off the first win of the Bill O’Brien era, Penn State will look to go back-to-back without a member of its starting defense.

The school confirmed roughly an hour or so prior to the kickoff of the non-conference game with Temple that defensive end Sean Stanley will not be available. The senior lineman has been dealing with a back issue.

The good news for the Nittany Lions is that the move is precautionary in nature and is not expected to impact the player’s availability for the start of Big Ten play.

Stanley has started all three games this season, and is expected to be replaced in the starting lineup by redshirt sophomore C.J. Olaniyan.
