VaTech QB on finger injury: ‘it was just squirting’ blood

Logan Thomas, Ted Quelet AP

I’m not tough. That’s why I wouldn’t criticize Missouri quarterback James Franklin‘s decision not to play against Arizona State last week and it’s certainly why I’ll give props to Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas for shrugging off a nasty finger injury in a 37-0 win over Bowling Green.

Hokies beat writer Andy Bitter has the details:

There are far worse injuries in football, but gross. For what it’s worth, Thomas had another sub-par performance, going 11-of-26 for 144 yards, two touchdowns and a pick. Never underestimate the power of 10 intact fingernails.
