API’m not tough. That’s why I wouldn’t criticize Missouri quarterback James Franklin‘s decision not to play against Arizona State last week and it’s certainly why I’ll give props to Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas for shrugging off a nasty finger injury in a 37-0 win over Bowling Green.

Logan Thomas said his finger nail got peeled back to base of skin on QB sneak for TD. “It was one of the worst pains I’ve ever felt.”

There are far worse injuries in football, but gross. For what it’s worth, Thomas had another sub-par performance, going 11-of-26 for 144 yards, two touchdowns and a pick. Never underestimate the power of 10 intact fingernails.
