Miami WR done for the year following ankle injury

A gruesome-looking ankle injury ended the day for Miami wide receiver Malcolm Lewis during yesterday’s win over Georgia Tech. As one would reasonably expect, the injury has ended the season for Lewis as well.

Coach Al Golden announced Sunday during his press conference that Lewis was in fact done for the year with a dislocated ankle. Golden added that he hoped to get a medical hardship waiver for Lewis.

Deadspin has a video of the injury, which you can watch HERE (at your own risk, of course). But the moment turned from horrific to heartwarming as Golden held and comforted Lewis as trainers tended to his injury. Coaches demand an awful lot from their players, so it was nice to see Golden be there for Lewis like that.

Lewis finishes the year with eight catches and was one of the more promising young talents the Hurricanes had on the roster.

Good luck in your recovery kid. Come back stronger.

The cane idiots are celebrating like they just won something meaningful. OT to beat an unranked one dimensional ACC patsy???? And UM football sets yet another low benchmark of how mediocre they are.

The NCAA grim reaper is sharpening his scythe as I type. Yeah…celebrate a win over a school that has done nothing ever. Very swaggerish.

    35longmiles,

Grim Reaper isn’t coming, small fry. You should read a little more into the investigation itself and stop reading Yahoo’s crap. And we’ll celebrate however we feel like. Crap, throw a parade for all I care as it seems to bother you.

Every win is meaningful unless you hate life like 35miles.

Golden is a great get for UM!

Miami has a long way to go obviously, but winning two ACC games coming from behind in the fourth quarter with so many Fr. & So.s playing….that is building something good.

Malcolm Lewis was on track to have a great freshman year (true freshman)….very sad to see.

Golden’s ALL IN with these kids attitude is awesome and great to see.

Especially with some of the other antics out of coaches at the Div.1 level.

And 35 Mile guy…yes I voted down your comment.

So much for the intellectual fantasy since 1965. What else would I expect from a Gator Fan. Nothing else to do.
    From serious cane

    35longmiles,

This clown always comes on Miami stories and talks crap. Then always says Canes fans go ahead and hit dislike button. I bet you get off thinking your funny. It’s time to move out of your parents house and get a life.
Oh and do me a favor, count the championships from your school and then count the ones from Miami.
