Buckeye CB on state of Michigan: ‘Dam I hate the smell!’

Isi Sofele, Bradley Roby AP

Well hello to the little bit of sizzle that’s been added to what’s shaping up as a ho-hum slate of Week 5 games.

In the marquee matchup of the weekend — and we know that because GameDay’s in East Lansing — Ohio State will travel to That State Up North to face Michigan State in the Big Ten opener for both teams.

Actually, the Buckeyes have already traveled and landed at their Saturday destination.  And, to say the least, the olfactory organ of one member of the visiting tOSU football program is very much offended and on sensory overload by the area in which he’ll spend the next 24 hours or so.

Oooooooo, we don’t give a damn for the whole smell of Michigan, the whole smell of Michigan…

That tweet — replete with the “expletive” misspelling — would belong to Bradley Roby, Ohio State cornerback and egregiously-offended critic of what East Lansing is cookin’.

It’s unclear how the tweet will play amongst the OSU coaching staff, or whether the “offending” tweet will even be there by the time you read this.  There’s little doubt, though, how it will play in That State Down South as a whole.

    Did Bradley smell burning couches?

If not, there will be some ire raised in East Lansing about his comments. I don’t know if there will be any additional motivation provided by these olfactory offenders but it will likely be spoken among players in the locker room before the game.

Despite the rhetoric, we wish all have a good and safe game.

My reaction? Not nice to agitate Sparty in that kind of fashion.

His spelling is better than expected for an Ohio State football player.

Really? Some child decides to play the “you stink” card and that’s news? I mean, I’ve seen that from preschoolers and…

    …oh, where was he from?

THE Ohio State University, where singularity yet requires specificity.

And yet, he spells better than the little brothers of U of M can.

    John Taylor

Any fan of the rivalry knows this is a play on an old joke/saying by Buckeyes that Michigan “smells like hotdog water”.

I’ve seen that a hundred times. There are dozens of jabs/jokes between the schools.

No bulletin board material to see here.

Since the Buckeyes insist on playing every non-conference game at home, he’s probably just not used to playing a road game.

Nothing like the oldies – directions to Michigan from Ohio – north until you smell it, left until you step in it.

    Now, behave yourself!

Like southernpatriots said long ago on a CFT thread when Urban agreed to come out of his “retirement” to coach the Buckeyes that you have one of the best of the best coaches and that it would lead to a even a great first year and some extraordinary years to follow. Congrats on the win and the record so far.

You’ll be digging up old Michigan jokes and we will be digging up old A&M Aggie jokes. Maybe it is shame on us all! HA.
