APAbout the worst thing that could happen to Clemson following a road loss to Florida State a week ago is turning around and losing to Boston College.
If it hadn’t been for a late first-half scoring drive, Clemson would be doing just that. But a Tajh Boyd touchdown to Brandon Ford has put the No. 17 Tigers up 24-21 on the Eagles heading into halftime.
Clemson doesn’t look lost offensively without Sammy Watkins, who is battling an abdominal virus, but the defense under first-year defensive coordinator Brent Venables is allowing BC’s passing game to keep the Eagles in this.
If this game heads to a shootout — even thinking about BC in such an event is mind-boggling — Clemson can probably survive, but this game is much tighter than I’m sure many thought it would be.
