S-B-C! Middle Tennessee upsets Georgia Tech

Benny Cunningham AP

The slate of of football games in Week 5 is lacking the top 25 match-ups and excitement that is sure to be present next weekend. But, as we saw in Week 2, that just means there are opportunities for upsets.

The first major one of the day goes in favor of Middle Tennessee over Georgia Tech, 49-28. Blue Raiders running back Benny Cunningham went off for 217 yards and five touchdowns while quarterback Logan Kilgore threw for another 246.

The loss? Tough to swallow for GT. Al Groh‘s days as the Yellow Jackets’ defensive coordinator? Numbered, perhaps.

Have to watch out for those Sun Belt schools.
