No change atop the latest coaches’ poll

Heading into Week 5, Alabama, Oregon, LSU, Florida State and Georgia made up the top five of the USA Today coaches’ poll. Seeing as Stanford was the only victim of a major upset this college football weekend, the latest coaches’ poll top 10 remained almost exactly identical as the week before.

The Tide, Ducks, Tigers, Noles and Dawgs (oh my!) stayed put in the top five, while South Carolina, West Virginia and Kansas State stayed at spots six, seven and eight, respectively. The Cardinal fell from No. 9 to No. 18 following its loss to Washington. As a result, Texas and Notre Dame moved up one spot to round out the top 10.

Florida and USC, both on a bye week, came in at No. 11 and No. 12, while TCU, Oklahoma and Clemson rounded out the top 15. Louisville was rewarded for its rain-drenched win over Southern Miss with a No. 16 ranking and Oregon State moved up once again after beating Arizona on the road.

The real reward, though, had to be the In-N-Out burgers Mike Riley promises his team if they win.

Great business trip!We will enjoy this until 2pm tomorrow, then it’s on to WSU.Anybody up for a burger?

Northwestern, Cincinnati and Texas Tech enter the coaches’ poll for the first time this season, and Boise State re-enters to round out the top 25. Dropping out of the coaches’ poll was No. 18 Michigan State, No. 22 Oklahoma State, No. 23 Wisconsin, No. 24 Baylor and No. 25 Virginia Tech.
