Cut-up coach’s tape or not, Michigan State’s loss to Ohio State Saturday will likely prove costly deep into the 2012 season.
Following the loss in the Big Ten opener, the Spartans confirmed that starting center Travis Jackson suffered a broken leg in the second quarter. As a result of the injury, it’s expected Jackson will miss the remainder of the season.
“It’s sad,” MSU right tackle Skyler Burkland said according to the Detroit Free Press. “He’s one of our leaders on the offensive line, and he’s one of my best friends. It hurts.”
How the Spartans will replace Jackson has yet to be determined, head coach Mark Dantonio said.
Jackson started 10 games as a redshirt freshman last year. He had started all five games this season as well.
