APTo no one’s surprise, Oklahoma State quarterback Wes Lunt did not play during Saturday’s 41-36 loss to Texas as he continues to recover from a knee injury he suffered a couple of weeks ago against Louisiana-Lafayette.
The Cowboys have another bye week before heading to Kansas on October 13. Whether Lunt will be healthy enough to play by then is still to be determined, but Mike Gundy hinted on his Monday teleconference that his freshman QB could be close to a return.
Gundy: Have two good QBs. Wes is “day by day.” We would expect him to be practicing here at least by the end of the week. #OKState

J.W. Walsh has filled in nicely in Lunt’s absence, throwing for 648 yards and six touchdowns to just one interception in the past two games as the team’s first-team quarterback.
OSU has not disclosed the exact nature of Lunt’s injury, nor a specific timeline for return.
