Kentucky loses RB to season-ending injury

As if the situation isn’t bad enough for Kentucky’s head coach, now Joker Phillips has lost a key piece of his offensive puzzle as well.

In a release, UK announced that running back CoShik Williams has officially been sidelined for the remainder of the 2012 season. An MRI revealed a torn labrum in the fifth-year senior’s hip.

Williams played just a game and a half -- he led the Wildcats in rushing in the season opener against Louisville -- battling the injury in the days and weeks since. He had started the last five games of last season as well as the first two this season.

” Again, next man up,” Phillips said in quotes distributed by the school. “That is the attitude that you have to take and those guys have done a good job that have been in there with Jon-Jon (Jonathan George) and Raymond (Sanders). That means now that the young fellow (Dyshawn Mobley) is getting closer to getting more reps.”

Sanders currently leads the Wildcats in rushing with 260 yards on the season.
