Hicks nixed again for ‘Horns vs. ‘Eers

Suffice to say, “all hands on deck” would be an apropos mantra for any defense to adopt when facing West Virginia’s high-octane offense.

Unfortunately for Texas, they’ll again be short one of its top players on that side of the ball.

On the Longhorns’ official injury report released Friday, UT confirmed that linebacker Jordan Hicks will not play in the Big 12 game vs. the Mountaineers. Hicks suffered a hip injury early in the Sept. 15 win over Ole Miss and, after a bye weekend, missed last Saturday’s win over Oklahoma State.

Despite missing most of the past two games, Hicks is still fourth in tackles (23) and tied for fifth in tackles for loss (3).

In addition to Hicks, UT had previously announced that second-leading rusher Malcolm Brown will be unavailable for the WVU game due to an ankle injury.
