APBYU played last night’s “thrilling” 6-3 win over in-state rival Utah State without starting offensive lineman Famika Anae.
Unfortunately for the Cougars, that also appears to be the case from here going forward.
It was announced prior to the game against the Aggies that the sophomore would not play due to what was described as “the cumulative effects of many injuries, primarily to his knee.” The school stated in a release that the left guard is not expected to continue his playing career due to the knee issues.
Anae had started the Sept. 28 win over Hawaii, and played in a total of eight games the past two seasons. He will be replaced in the starting lineup by Solomone Kafu.
Lost to Boise State 7-6, beat Utah State 6-3. These sound like baseball scores, although I would have bet money that BYU would have lost both these games while scoring just 6 points in each.
The 6-3, 7-0, etc., games usually receive a lot of flack from the public about being boring. I thought it was a great game myself.
