UGA players’ house egged, TP’d because of loss?

Georgia’s 35-7 beatdown at the hands of South Carolina was a tough a difficult one to take as it stripped the Bulldogs of controlling its own destiny in the SEC East.

It apparently was a very difficult one for at least a handful of the UGA faithful as well.

Linebacker Christian Robinson claimed on his Twitter account a few hours after the loss that he came home to the residence he shares with starting quarterback Aaron Murray and found it had been egged and toilet papered.  The senior indicated that it was the handiwork of some disgruntled fans.

Wrote Murray on Twitter, “yep what a great thing to come home to for us.”

For his part, head coach Mark Richt brushed off the “sad” incident and chalked it up to people getting “upset” over such things as a football game.

“Sometimes that comes with the territory,” he said. “You’re a public figure and people get upset about things. It’s sad something like that would happen but it’s not shocking people get criticism or something like that happened to them when they’re in the type position those guys are in, especially the quarterback position.”

If it was indeed UGA fans who decided to take their frustrations out on the players’ home, it shouldn’t paint the entire fan base as one huge get-a-life group. ┬áThose responsible, though, might want to take note of the attitude of one of the players who was the target of their angst and realize their priorities are more-than-slightly out of whack.

UGA fans always too high expectations for the Dawgs. They have not been an elite team for many years and always seem to fold against ranked teams. They are always given a lot of hype and never live up to it.

No coach in college football does LESS with more talent than Coach Richt.

    But he’s a really nice guy…

    Shocked revalation SEC Fans:
    – When you schedule cream puffs in your non-conference, it does not prepare you for a top 25 team. All it does is give you false hope.

The SEC is the “best conference in Amercia”, but UGA only plays 2 teams ranked in the top 25. Hmmmmmmmmmmm….

UGA fans, meet Brian Downing and Harvey Updyke.

hey dixie, what SEC team destroyed your team to make you so bitter. Did you happen to realize that UGA lost to an SEC team?

SEC currently has three teams in Top 4, which one shouldn’t be there mr. bitter? Don’t go away mad, just go away!

To whoever did it: Leave the kids alone. Besides, if you’re going to TP anyone’s house, you could at least have done Bobo’s.

I’d rather have the character of a Christian Robinson and a loss on my schedule than the character of “mydixie”, who, by the way, roots for a perpetual loser anyway. Wow. Double-negative. It must be painful being you.

Person with juvenile handle makes comment with no purpose other.than trolling. No surprise there.

  8. foreverlsu says: Oct 8, 2012 1:22 PM

Well said florida727 and congrats to Gators!

So if I say something about your team that you don’t like it then I’m automatically labeled a troll? Pretty lame dude. Doesn’t Georgia have more players in the NFK than most than most other schools? Yet they don’t have much to show for it.

Sorry buddy but this is the definition of a poor coach.

I agree Georgia doesn’t sseemed prepared for big games and the results are evident by Georgia’s 2-14 record against top 25 teams the past 4 yrs!

But disagree with “my enormous ego!”

Would have to say Mac Brown at UT has done the least with the best talent in the past 4-yrs. Texas gets a top 5 class every yr but Brown and his staff just don’t seem to be able to mold them into a consistant power.
No ax to grind just my opinion!!!!!

FYI–Of the teams still undefeated the only teams in the top 20 of SOS (strength of schedule) are
    Notre Dame Florida West Virginia

SC is the only beginning of these Georgia losers to continue getting beat.
Over hyped, over excited came to a crashing end.
    GO COCKS

Agreed about Texas fo sho !

“There are more important things in life than wins and loses.”

Apparently spelling is not one of those things.

Georgia’s not my team. Yes, you were trolling, as in trying to get a rise out of GA/SEC fans. You succeeded too. I did not say you were a troll, something I reserve for those whose comments are never anything but inane or offensive–your handle does make others more likely to respond negatively towards you however.

You did make one point, that GA has a relatively light schedule, even within the conference. That’s something about which I would expect most Gamecock and Gator fans to agree with you.

  15. mydixienormus says: Oct 8, 2012 3:17 PM

If a troll is someone who tries to get a rise out of others (especially UGA and UF fans), then I wear the moniker with pride!!!

UF had a nice win though. Nice to wipe that smug expression off Lesss Mile’s face.

LOL Only in the SEC! I guess a moving van was too expensive.

The house that should have been rolled belongs to Mark “Fulmer” Richt. It doesnt matter how much talent the Dawgs have, when they line up against a team with equal talent and better coaching, they will lose 9/10 times, and Steve Spurrier is still the best coach in the league.

  17. imaduffer says: Oct 8, 2012 3:46 PM

Free toilet paper? Isn’t that a violation of the NCAA rules against players receiving free gifts?

  18. hor2012 says: Oct 8, 2012 5:51 PM

I take issue with Mark Ritch’s cavalier attitude toward the actions of the individuals that defaced the young man’s home. I don’t care what happens on a football field that doesn’t give anyone the right to violate someone else’s property. It’s alright to be upset because your team. It’s not alright to express that anger in a manner that effects other people. And, the mere fact that anyone could suggest that it’s only a prank is dillusional. I would remind you this happened after a loss. And, it was a loss in which I think that the Bulldogs gave great effort.

They should have used maxi pads instead of tp. The way UGA played it would have been more appropriate.

  20. goodellsadouche says: Oct 8, 2012 6:52 PM

With the exception of Les Miles, NOBODY does LESS with the amount of talent and depth than Mark Richt.

  21. microbrewuga says: Oct 9, 2012 8:07 AM

As with all schools, we have our share of immature fans, best described as “losers”. On the other hand, there are thousands of us who would have made the trip to Athens to clean up that mess, had we known about it. Yes, I was disgusted with our performance and did make some rude comments, (to myself), about some of our coaches, but to egg and tp the QB’s house? Good grief.
