Injury costs Buckeyes starting LB for at least three weeks

Etienne Sabino AP

An injury suffered this past weekend will cost Ohio State a defensive starter for a sizable stretch of the Big Ten season.

Linebacker Etienne Sabino suffered a lower-leg injury in the 25-point win over Nebraska two days ago and was initially ruled out of this weekend’s game against Indiana by school officials. Monday, head coach Urban Meyer confirmed that as well as the fact that the senior will miss at least the next three weeks, which is a best-case prognosis.

Meyer also confirmed Sabino suffered a broken leg and underwent surgery to have a metal plate inserted into the fibula.

Sabino is currently third on the team in tackles (38) and tied for second in sacks (two).

Say, anyone seen the projected BCS rankings yet? The computer section is hilarious.

Notre Dame is ranked no lower than 4th and has the highest cumulative rank. In the country. Out of five different computer algorithms. Go figure.

Three (3!) computers rank Alabama #7. Hahaha! What a joke.

And the idiocy continues: Massey has Oregon State #1. I know they’re having a pretty good year, but #1? He also has Texas Tech at #3. Texas lost to WVU, but he has them #6, one spot ahead of Alabama. I might be a wee bit biased against him since he thinks USC is #41. But then again, he also thinks Oregon is only the 15th best team.

Check out all the silly rankings here:

Oh, dear, a link to a rival network. Is that allowed?

That sucks for us… The linebackers were probably my favorite part of the Buckeye defense. I hope the kid recoveres back to full, I think he has a bright future.

Get well soon Mr. Sabino, we might be rivals, but no one wants to see a young man with injuries like these.

By your logic, the Seminoles must not be allowed to wear shoes.

Guess the altitude gets to more people than just the President.
