Injury costs Buckeyes starting LB for at least three weeks

An injury suffered this past weekend will cost Ohio State a defensive starter for a sizable stretch of the Big Ten season.

Linebacker Etienne Sabino suffered a lower-leg injury in the 25-point win over Nebraska two days ago and was initially ruled out of this weekend’s game against Indiana by school officials. Monday, head coach Urban Meyer confirmed that as well as the fact that the senior will miss at least the next three weeks, which is a best-case prognosis.

Meyer also confirmed Sabino suffered a broken leg and underwent surgery to have a metal plate inserted into the fibula.

Sabino is currently third on the team in tackles (38) and tied for second in sacks (two).
