Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Bill Young was forced to miss the first two games of the season for what was initially called an unspecified medical procedure.
Turns out that procedure was to repair an aneurysm “the size of a thumbnail bubbled right between his eyes.”
“The doctor said I was a walking time bomb,” Young told the Tulsa World.
Young has a family history of aneurysms. One took his father’s life and another hit Young 30 years ago when he was an assistant at Tulsa. This time around, he didn’t experience any symptoms for the bubble right between his eyes, but on the advice of his doctor, went in for an MRI.
