Suspended Wake duo arrested on weed charges

Early Saturday afternoon, Wake Forest announced that it had indefinitely suspended another two players for unspecified violations of team rules.

A day later, we’ve gotten some of the specifics.

According to the Winston-Salem Journal, safety Duran Lowe (pictured) and offensive tackle Devin Bolling were arrested Oct. 9 by the Winston-Salem Police Department on charges related to (gasp!) marijuana. The former was charged with possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana, the latter with possession of marijuana.

No details of what led to the arrests were immediately available.

Both Moore and Bolling started a game apiece this season, with each listed as the No. 2 player at their respective positions on the most recent depth chart.

The duo’s suspension brings to eight the number of Demon Deacons who have been suspended this month. In early October, Wake announced that six players had been suspended for one game for violating unspecified team rules.

It was subsequently reported that each of those players had failed a random drug test. Sheesh, who does Wake think it is, Oregon East?
