David Ash ‘seems to be fine’ after wrist injury

Texas has lost one of its best individual defensive players for the season in Jackson Jeffcoat because of a right pectoral rupture he suffered in last Saturday’s loss to Oklahoma. Thankfully for the Longhorns, an injury to quarterback David Ash sustained in the same game isn’t anywhere close to being as serious.

At least that’s the way Mack Brown made it out to be during his Monday teleconference.

David Ash seems to be fine,” Brown said. “He’s just got a bruise on his left wrist.”

Ash had to leave the game in the fourth quarter down 49-8 because of the injury and did not return. He did, however, practice Sunday. Barring a major setback, he’ll be ready to go this weekend against Baylor.

Texas has been hit with a string of injuries in recent weeks. In addition to Jeffcoat, linebacker Jordan Hicks (hip) and running back Malcolm Brown (ankle) have missed games this season. Kicker Anthony Fera is only recently returning from a groin injury that sidelined him through the early portion of the season.
