Hey, at least it’s an ACC team that doesn’t rhyme with “Schmake Schmorest,” right Demon Deacons?

In a press release sent out Tuesday evening, Duke announced that it has dismissed cornerback Tim Burton (not pictured) has been dismissed from the football program.  The reason for the dismissal is the omnipresent “violation of unspecified program policy.”

The Raleigh News & Observer notes that “[t]here is no record of Burton being arrested in Durham County in the past 30 days,” so he’s got that going for him, which is nice.

The redshirt freshman has played in all seven games this season, and was listed on the depth chart as the backup corner to starter Ross Cockrell heading into this Saturday’s game against North Carolina.  Burton also leads the team with a 20-yard average on 13 kickoff returns.
