Sandusky wants convictions overturned, seeks new trial

Jerry Sandusky AP

Well of course the convicted serial pedophile wants that.

As expected, convicted serial pedophile Jerry Sandusky has asked a judge to overturn the nearly four dozen counts of the molestation/sexual abuse/rape of 10 boys for which he was essentially sentenced to life in prison earlier this month.

In the filing, made in the Bellefonte (Pa.) courthouse where he was sentenced to a mandatory minimum of 30 years in prison, the convicted serial pedophile claimed his lawyers were not given sufficient time to prepare their defense on 50-plus original counts as well as the statute of limitations for some charges had expired.

In one of the more laughable claims in the 31-page motion, the convicted serial pedophile claims that “the court’s sentence was excessive and tantamount … to a life sentence, which the defendant submits is in violation of his rights.”

What rights — outside of due process, a speedy trial and a jury of his peers — a convicted serial pedophile feels he’s entitled to and was violated of is unclear.

Other issues the convicted serial pedophile has with the judicial process as it pertains to him?

More than a third of the document explores ways Sandusky believes the rapid pace of the case violated his right to due process of law, as he went from arrest to trial in just over seven months. His lawyers said they were swamped by documents from prosecutors, they lacked time to interview possible witnesses and an expert and two assistants were not available at trial.

The document said Judge John Cleland ruled improperly concerning the use of a computer-generated drawing of an accuser and issued incorrect jury instructions. It also raised issues about prosecutors’ closing argument, the vagueness of the charges, sequestration of jurors and the amount of restitution ordered.

OK, that’s exactly what you’d expect from an individual who has blamed everybody but himself for a situation that will result in him (rightly) never again sniffing the sweet smell of freedom.

This will likely be the last time you see the name “Sandusky” on this website, until, of course, this motion is denied and is followed by one in which the convicted serial pedophile claims ineffective/incompetent/negligent counsel.

He’s just going thru the standard motions… nothing will become of this.

If you are disgusted with the fact that he’s trying to get a new trial, or won’t admit wrongdoing, don’t write about him.

All this person wants is his name in the news. Stop writing about him & he’ll eventually rot away in prison.

This man is seriously in denial. Just figure he’s mentally ill in countless ways. One is that he has convinced himself he didn’t do all the bad things he’s accused of. It was all just “horseplay.”

Get it, gang? There was no actual sex. Penises are no different from fingers. And those kids were all persuaded to lie about their good buddy, Jer.

Why? Because (1) they wanted money and (2) because they were bullying him. WAH! No fair! “I was there, and I ought to know. It was all innocent”.

“See, I’m just a big kid myself. Read all about it in my book, ‘Touched’ “.

Only he didn’t realize how many (accurate) meanings there are to that word he inadvertently chose as title. Just spank him and let him out. He’s SORRY; now, he realizes he goofed with poor judgment.

Just ignore him from now on, people. Jerry is indefinitely on “Time Out”. Maybe he can make sense of that one. And then the rest of us won’t have to put up with his ugly mug any more. For my part, it reminds me of too much pain – other people’s pain. Children’s pain.

No way is he going to be able to face his culpability – as an ADULT.

This is standard appeals stuff. I wish someone would just kill him in prison and save the tax payers money for other BS appeals.

    This..is our justice system.
For the life of me – I’ll never understand when obviously guilty can lead to appeals or new trials. You did the crime – and personally, since you did the crime – I could care less if you got time to defend yourself – guilty is guilty – regardless of time.
Love his excuse that it was orchestrated by Penn State – yeah – they wanted to kill their school to get at you Jerry.
Man up..if possible, but…I think he is WAY too flat in front…..

“…and an expert and two assistants were not available at trial.”

Just one question: WHY THE HECK NOT? You have something better going on that day? (Okay, so it’s two questions, but the second one is more of a smart-@$$ remark than a question. But that’s just me.)

@draconian1111: Love his excuse that it was orchestrated by Penn State – yeah – they wanted to kill their school to get at you Jerry.

Couldn’t agree more! I wish they would just put him in general population so the only thing we ever have to hear about that POS is that he suffered and died. He is a monster and although its not in my nature to be cruel i think what he did to those kids absolutely warrants him suffering for the rest of his pathetic life. I know that the most important aspect of all this by far is what he did to those kids but he also hurt penn state and a lot of other innocent people in this area.
Yeah jerry, Penn state definitely was willing to damage the reputation of the school and hurt area business and just in general put the kids and people here through all this just to get you, you douche. Die already. he is just dragging it out for all of the victims and also for all of us associated with the school and the area.
It literally makes me sick to my stomach every time i read statements from him about how everyone was out to get him. It doesn’t seem to bother him at all that he destroyed the lives of children and hurt everything and everyone that gave him every opportunity at a good life and the chance to actually make a positive contribution to society. He used those opportunities to prey on the innocent for his own twisted amusement. 30 years for what he did is a joke. You think that is a violation of your rights jerry? I think its a violation of the human race that you arent violated every day for the rest of your life.

This man will die in prison, as he should. I don’t think any reporters should ever write his name in print again, no matter how many appeals he makes. You are just feeding his huge ego.

The biggest problem with letting him loose in general population is that he’d probably enjoy getting raped, and we just can’t have that. No, what he needs is handed over to the most vocally, violently anti-pedophile prisoners that the warden can find (which shouldn’t be difficult – kid touchers usually don’t do so well in prison), and tell the guards to take their lunch break. Give ‘em an hour to make him regret ever drawing a breath, have the guards escort them back to their cells, and place letters of commendation in their files for being model prisoners. Tell the cleaning staff to bring extra bleach, and consider the problem solved.

From the mouth of Victim 1:

Fisher first reported the abuse in 2008, but he said the Pennsylvania attorney general’s office told him it needed more victims before Sandusky would be charged. Sandusky was not arrested until last November.

The delay, Fisher said, made him increasingly desperate.

“I thought maybe it would be easier to take myself out of the equation,” he told ABC. “Let somebody else deal with it.”

He was allowed to roam free for over 3 years when the top law dog knew. Coincidence that he wanted to be governor and Sanduskys charity was soooo generous with contributions. it’s almost worse than turning your head. You let him pay for your inaction.
    Corbett should be arrested also

Oh yea…Die already Jerry you sick bastard
