Sutton ‘week-to-week’, Onyeali expected to practice this week for ASU

Things began to turn quickly against Arizona State in Thursday night’s loss to Oregon when defensive linemen Will Sutton and Junior Onyeali went down with knee and shoulder injuries, respectively.

The good news for Sun Devils fans is that the injuries don’t appear to be too serious. An ASU spokesperson said Friday that Sutton “received good prognosis today on [his] right knee from medical staff and will be week to week.” Sutton injured his knee on a forced fumble early in the first quarter against the Ducks. He did not return.

Meanwhile, coach Todd Graham said that Onyeali should be back at practice this week. Both Sutton and Onyeali are key contributors to ASU’s D-line, and with them, perhaps Thursday’s game could have been more competitive.

ASU’s next game is a key Pac-12 South divisional game against UCLA.
