As Tulsa looks to extend its winning streak to seven straight this season, the Golden Hurricanes will probably have to do without the services of its top playmaker in the passing game.
According to Tulsa World, head coach Bill Blankenship acknowledged that it’s highly doubtful wide receiver Keyarris Garrett will play this weekend against Rice. Blankenship said that the receiver is dealing with a health issue, the nature of which the school declined to disclose.
The good news going forward, such as the case may be in a situation like this, for Tulsa is twofold. One, they are playing the two-win Owls this weekend at home. Secondly, they will have a bye next weekend ahead of its non-conference game against Arkansas.
Through seven games, Garrett leads Tulsa in receptions (25), receiving yards (325) and touchdowns (four).
