LSU’s offense MIA early against Texas A&M

To say there’s no place like home would be putting it mildly for No. 6 LSU. In two games away from Death Valley this season, the Tigers are averaging just nine points per game.

That average might dip today against No. 20 Texas A&M. Through a quarter and a half, LSU has a whopping zero points on the board and trails the Aggies 12-0. Zach Mettenberger‘s struggles continue with just a handful of completed passes. A&M’s defense is stacking the box and daring LSU to take a shot against single coverage. The Aggies are also doing a good job getting pressure up front and batting balls down at the line of scrimmage.

LSU’s defense didn’t help matters early on, either. A&M was able to rack up 180 yards in opening quarter, though things have slowed down a bit in the second.

A&M doesn’t need to be explosive to win this game, though, since LSU can’t find any offensive rhythm. At 12-0, this game isn’t out of hand -- yet -- but the lead feels larger.
