MACtion claims another victim in No. 21 Cincinnati

Did we tell ya, or did we tell ya? You don’t just waltz into the Glass Bowl against mighty Toledo...

No. 21 Cincinnati found that out the hard way, and without star defensive end Walter Stewart. The Rockets pulled the upset over the Bearcats 29-23 without a single offensive touchdown. Jermaine Robinson returned a Munchie Legaux interception 75 yards for a score and Bernard Reedy returned a kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown. Kicker Jeremiah Detmer made five field goals.

Cincy was one of three Big East unbeaten teams in the top 25 polls along with Louisville and Rutgers. While the Bearcats are still very much in the Big East race, they do visit the Cardinals next Friday and host Rutgers three games later on Nov. 17. The next month is, suffice to say, big for Butch Jones’ team.
