APFor the first time this season, no team in the Top 10 exited the weekend with its first loss.
Instead, the status quo ruled Week 8. For the most part.
Just one of the 12 remaining unbeatens saw their perfect season fall by the wayside, with No. 21 Cincinnati tripping up against unranked Toledo. Just one Top 10 team imploded as No. 9 South Carolina took a 33-point uppercut to the chin courtesy of No. 3 Florida. In fact, just one other team ranked in the most recent Associated Press poll — No. 20 Texas A&M — lost, and that was to No. 6 LSU.
In other words, there will likely be very little shakeup, especially at or near the top, when the latest set of polls are released early Sunday afternoon.
With that in mind, and armed with the knowledge that the top four teams in the country — Alabama, Oregon, Florida and Kansas State — won by a combined total score of 186-59 this weekend, who ya got? Who should be the No. 1 team in the nation? Vote below as we’ve reached the portion of the season where only unbeaten teams are up for consideration at this time.
Not happy with that? Sound off below the poll.
Top 4 stays the same as all of them won convincingly and you don’t punish a team for winning
And adding to that I’m glad WVU got exposed. They were overrated and it was based off the arm of their QB. And his Heisman chances are gone as well.
The same team that has been #1 ever since the popularity pre-season rankings fell due to the media darling USC suffered a perennial loss to Stanford, the same team that earned the BCS NC last season–The Alabama Crimson Tide, should continue as #1 until if and when someone beats them.
I thought for sure by now either Western Kentucky or Florida Atlantic would have beaten Alabama, well Western Carolina looms, and they say this a cupcake schedule……
@phreakin
Why are you glad a young mans chance at a Heisman trophy are in your words……”Gone”…Do you take some sort of perverse satisfaction from that?…He’s just a kid playing football in college, something you obviously never did. I’m no WVU fan, but hell i don’t understand why some internet chatter gets his rocks off over a kid’s success or lack of….You are the definition of a complete LOSER….You had to “add to that”, which speakes volumes……

You’re the one that really sounds like a “LOSER.” Throwing a diva fit because the guy takes a shot. College football teams meet up and try to take each other’s heads off but you don’t like him dogging the guys Heisman hopes. Booo F’ing hoo. You must have a kid that plays “Everybody Gets a Trophy” ball.
They DID get exposed and they WERE overrated and his Heisman hopes ARE gone. I could give a rat’s ass about KState or WVU, but you just sound like a wimp.
Go save some kittens you giant whining pu$$y.
Oh look…….It’s Uncle Rico
Knock knock
700levelvet, first this isn’t Twitter.
Second, it’s a fact. Everything I said.
And third, is 700levelvet a Mike Gundy character account? Let me guess, you’re a man and you’re forty?
I forgot fourth…what’s with….the terrible….punctuation….and sentence…..structure….????
And you don’t but gone in quotes like it’s some mythical thing I said. I actually said gone. Like WVU’s title hopes and his Heisman chances. Has nothing to do with wanting the kid or team to fail, and has everything to do with WVU was overrated. The only reason they were ranked high is because it’s hard for the writers and coaches to hype up a guy and his Heisman chance on a team ranked 20th.
