FSU’s leading RB will miss the remainder of the season with ACL injury

Unfortunately for Florida State, the worst fears regarding the knee injury to running back Chris Thompson have come to fruition.

Jimbo Fisher said Monday that Thompson, a senior, has an ACL injury and will miss the remainder of the season. Thompson suffered the injury during Saturday’s win over Miami.

Thompson led the ‘Noles with 687 yards on the ground and five touchdowns -- great numbers by themselves, but even more incredible when you consider Thompson was returning from a broken back that, eerily, ended his 2011 season around one year ago.

FSU’s next-leading rusher is James Wilder Jr., who has just over 300 yards less on the ground and seven touchdowns.

Just a tough break for Florida State and for an oft-injured player.
