Getty ImagesFor having a torn meniscus, Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion has recovered rather quickly as it appears he will have missed two games recovering from the injury.
Beavers coach Mike Riley said Monday that Mannion has been upgraded to return as the team’s starting quarterback for this weekend’s game at Washington.
Riley made it official after Monday’s practice, Mannion is the starter Saturday. More later.

Mannion initially suffered the injury earlier this month against Washington State and immediately underwent knee surgery. Junior Cody Vaz has filled in beautifully for Mannion in two wins over BYU and Utah, going 36-of-58 for 506 yards and three touchdowns. Mannion dressed for last Saturday’s game against the Utes and theoretically could have played if needed.
Mannion has thrown for 1,358 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions in four games this year.
