Clemson loses another starting corner

Bashaud Breeland, Alex Amidon AP

Just as Thursday night’s opponent is on the verge of getting back its best weapon in the passing game, Clemson has lost yet another member of the unit charged with keeping that phase of the game in check.

The Tigers confirmed in a release Wednesday that starting cornerback Bashaud Breeland will not play in the game against Wake Forest due to injury.  In fact, the redshirt sophomore didn’t even travel with the team.

Breeland suffered an abdominal injury in the win over Virginia Tech this past weekend.

The corner has started five of Clemson’s seven games this season.  Gary Peters was listed as an “OR” on the most recent depth chart.

The Tigers’ other starting corner, Darius Robinson, suffered a broken ankle in the win over the Hokies.
