Getty ImagesOregon is a heavy favorite against Colorado this weekend. However, the No. 2 Ducks will in all likelihood be down their leading tackler on defense, so clearly an upset is in the making.
Senior linebacker Kiko Alonso has not practiced this week while dealing with a what appears to be a wrist injury, per the Oregonian, and has his hand wrapped. UO does not disclose injuries, so there’s no official word on his availability.
In the event that Alonso cannot go, sophomore Derrick Malone would likely take the field. Alonso has 42 tackles, eight of which went for a loss of 21 yards, one sack, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
The Ducks, assuming they can take care of business against the Buffs, will have a Nov. 3 showdown with USC with plenty of BCS implications (and it may not be the last time those two meet this season).
Like it matters—it is Colorado after all
The line is Colorado +50 and that should cover up until beginning of the 3rd qtr.
Chip Kelly has real games coming up—he won’t play anybody that even has a cold!
Oregon could pretty much sit ALL starters and play 2s and 3s… and settle for a 20 pt win.
Sad to see how the Barnett, Hoffman, Churchill years effectively KILLED this football program.
What a total mess… and not yet recovered.
I was at the USC/Colorado game and those Colorado DB’s couldn’t stop a forward pass or tackle anyone. If their DC can’t get those guys trained up any better than that then Oregon will hang 50 points on them in the first quarter. What a mess !!!!
Wait! Oregon has a defense? Who knew…

Just ask any Arizona fan if Oregon plays defense?
