Oregon is a heavy favorite against Colorado this weekend. However, the No. 2 Ducks will in all likelihood be down their leading tackler on defense, so clearly an upset is in the making.
Senior linebacker Kiko Alonso has not practiced this week while dealing with a what appears to be a wrist injury, per the Oregonian, and has his hand wrapped. UO does not disclose injuries, so there’s no official word on his availability.
In the event that Alonso cannot go, sophomore Derrick Malone would likely take the field. Alonso has 42 tackles, eight of which went for a loss of 21 yards, one sack, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
The Ducks, assuming they can take care of business against the Buffs, will have a Nov. 3 showdown with USC with plenty of BCS implications (and it may not be the last time those two meet this season).
