APLove him or hate him, Lee Corso is an absolute gem on ESPN’s College GameDay. He’s going to be a staple of college football’s best program for another two years.
ESPN announced Corso had signed a two-year extension with the broadcast company Friday morning. “I have been really fortunate to have worked for the same company the last 25 years and look forward to what is ahead for me onCollege GameDay,” Corso said in the release. “The show has become a Saturday morning institution and to be a part of that makes me so proud. There isn’t a better group of people to be surrounded by each week than the GameDay crew, who are like my second family.”
Corso’s headgear selection was really inspired by Beano Cook, who passed away earlier this month from health complications, but Corso has taken the weekly picks to another level. This year, it’s been all about the live animals, not to mention Kirk Herbstreit looking as though he’s going to wet himself when a live chicken is placed in front of him.
There have been a lot of classic moments with Corso and his headgear selection. His best? THIS, easily.
Glad this happened
I think everyone can rejoice about this.
best Lee Corso moment

Some guys (Favre, Emmitt Smith, Mick Jagger/Keith Richards) must be told; “You’ve had your time. It’s someone else’s turn now. It’s time to walk away”… and Corso is now the guy at the very top of this list.
Corso has valiantly recovered from a stroke, and I think it is extremely commendable that he has fought through that.
For a while he could barely talk on gameday. His segments were super short, and he had zero analysis. He still has a long way to go, but the man is a legend, and he deserves the chance to claw himself back to his former glory. I am so proud of him.
Wonderful news. This is a great fan program, and the guys at the desk, make it the very special sports venue that it is….smart, informative, and funny.
Good on Lee. He’s the least talented and most loved
on the GameDay team.
Great news. Who doesn’t love the Sunshine Scooter? Chris Berman on the other hand…
Not so fast, my friend! He should have retired a couple of years ago after his stroke.
I usually enjoy watching College Gameday. I do think they should rotate their announcers, though. While the ones they have are good, they also have the same opinions and biases every week. It would nice to hear some fresh comments and opinions every once in a while.
Just my .02

ESPN is very lenient with Senior on camera personalities. Holtz and Corso should have been gone some time ago; but ESPN could never find ex-coaches who would pose as clowns the way these two guys do. I laugh at some of Corso’s stuff; but Holtz is in a walking coma. If you can’t remember names or facts, let somebody else do the job. But ESPN is Showbiz not sports reporting.
Corso and Holtz have no credibility which is why I quit watching the sill pre-game shows ESPN try’s to pass long as legitimate football coverage.
Leecorsoisapenis… Best. Sign. Ever.
I’m glad that Corso will be back. I enjoy his antics and him coming back from a stroke is no easy task. Glad that he will be there for another few years.
