APAhead of their huge matchup with Oklahoma Saturday, Notre Dame’s backfield depth has reportedly taken a bit of a hit.
According to ESPN.com, running back George Atkinson III will not play against the Sooners due to illness. Atkinson, who did not make the trip to Norman with his teammates, is suffering from flu-like symptoms, the website reported.
The school has yet to confirm Atkinson’s availability, or lack thereof.
Atkinson is currently third on the team in rushing with 301 yards, but leads the Irish in rushing touchdowns (four) and yards per attempt (8.1).
It wouldn’t have mattered as this game will be decided by OU’s offense running over, through and around Notre Dame’s supposedly good defense. OU 31 ND 10
Notre Dame is way overmatched in this one…..
OU hasn’t played against a good defense but once all year; they got beat by a KSU defense, similar, but not as stout against the run as the ND defense. OU may win, but they will not score more than 21 in doing so.
Blitz4848 your a ND hater and that my friend will bite you in the ass!
Blitz4848: Notre Dame fans think that if you root for Notre Dame’s opponent then you are a Notre Dame hater. Some small minds up there.
I am so excited to see a real whale of a college football game in a few minutes. The closer the better.
Mungman bet you feel dumb…I would.
Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Haters gonna hate. You like apples?
