Anyway, and according to the Miami Herald, offensive lineman Trip Thurman was arrested in June and then again in September. In the first incident, Thurman was initially charged with a third-degree felony for possession of a forged driver’s license or identification card. The charged was later reduced to a misdemeanor and Thurman received deferred prosecution.
Two days after reaching the plea deal, however, he was cited for underage drinking.
The Herald wrote that, “[b]ecause he violated the terms of his deferred prosecution agreement, it’s likely Thurman will now be again facing the charge for misdemeanor possession of a forged driver’s license.”
The school has yet to comment on the situation. The Palm Beach Post notes that Thurman, who has played in three games this season, is the 10th Gator football player arrested since Will Muschamp took over at UF.
The difference NOW vs the past (Urban Meyer era) Muschamp will yank his scholarship and he will either transfer or have to “TRY and EARN it back!!!!
It’s a floriduh thang!
He’ll be transferring to Ohio St soon.
Or Miami.
Hey bud leave UM out of this. Since 2008, Miami has been one of the cleanest football program in terms of arrests and legal issues, save the Shapiro bs for another topic.
Wow, one more player and they’ll have enough for one side of a starting team….
@ blitz4848 & canetic:
It strikes me as amusing that you trashed Meyer and tOSU because of a Florida lineman’s issues. Blitz4848 commented on how Muschamp will “yank his scholarship and he will either transfer or have to “TRY and EARN it back!” Correct me if I am wrong, but the offenses in question took place in June and September. This is the end of October. You would think that his scholarship would have been yanked or as canetic commented be playing for Ohio State by now.
Another Crime of the Century. I know I’m risking my chances of becoming president one day, but I once used a fake ID when I was in high school (gasp!). I might even have had a beer.
Muschamp has actually cleaned up the place IMO, the stories of Percy and Janoris makes me think it’s mostly UM recruited guys who have Had legal problems, I think if he messes up again or is not looking focused enough in practice his scholarship will be revoked as muschamp is a Saban offspring. That means being no nonsense and schools revoking for the next big recruit in next years class
Soflo,
Don’t forget about Jeffrey Brown….

Man, these programs cant really control what these kids are gonna do. As a coach, you study the game tape on the kids, meet them one or twice and make a decision to extend them a scholly or not. You have no clue how these kids are gonna behave once they get to a program and get settled in. Once they get comfortable, it’s more on them to act right than it is on the coach or the school. EVERY school has these problems. Its almost a non-story now..
