Getty ImagesAs Hurricane Sandy continues to pound the East Coast — there are some unbelievable images from the storm if you’ve missed them — injuries continue to take their toll on Iowa’s backfield.
Mark Weisman, injured in Saturday’s loss to Northwestern, is unlikely to play this weekend against Indiana, Kirk Ferentz said Tuesday. Weisman is the team’s leading rusher with 661 yards and eight touchdowns. He emerged as the go-to guy in the Hawkeyes’ backfield earlier this year because of other injuries and attrition to the running back spot.
One of those injured backs was Damon Bullock, who suffered a concussion in September. However, it appears Bullock is on the mend and will play against the Hoosiers. Bullock is the team’s second-leading rusher with 387 yards and a touchdown.
He “might” want to look at his OC’s play calling as the possible cause for these injuries. Calling the same play over and over again getting the same result could be the problem. It’s happened before.
I am amazed that while he is a classy guy, Keith keeps his job. Iowa is irrelevant and has been for a number of years now. They have vastly under-achieved on the field and injuries aside (all teams face injuries to starters), this is a woeful campaign. He should be on a very hot seat. Penn State simply hammered them in Iowa City and we found out this past weekend that the PSU is not that good.
WHAT? An Iowa RB can’t play this week? Ive never heard such a thing!
