Last month, the flu hit South Carolina in the week leading up to an eventual road loss to Florida. As the Gators prepare for Mizzou this Saturday, there’s at least one player dealing with similar symptoms.

Will Muschamp said Thursday that defensive lineman Leon Orr was hospitalized earlier this week with flu-like symptoms and will not play against the Tigers.

“Right now for the game, Leon Orr will be out,” Muschamp said. “He has gotten really sick. He’s going to be fine. He’s got about a 72-hour deal. He had to go and get some fluid in him and things. He’s going to be fine.”

Muschamp said other players have been battling illness, including safety Matt Elam. The safety will be fine to play this Saturday, however.

Orr has played in all eight of Florida’s games this season and is among the top 15 tacklers on the team with 13 total tackles. He also has recorded one sack.
