‘Questionable’ the status of Sooners’ leading rusher

The good news for Oklahoma is that it should have one of its top offensive linemen as it looks to bounce back from its humbling loss to Notre Dame.

The bad? The Sooners could be without the most productive member of the running game.

Running back Damien Williams tweaked his ankle at some point during the loss to the Irish Saturday. While Williams practiced Thursday, head coach Bob Stoops labeled the junior questionable for this weekend’s road game against Iowa State.

Williams currently leads the Sooners with 581 yards rushing and seven touchdowns.

On the flip side, offensive tackle Lane Johnson appears to be a go for the Cyclones. Like Williams, Johnson suffered an ankle injury in the Irish game and, after being held out earlier in the week, practiced yesterday.

Stoops said the left tackle, who has started every game this season, is expected to play tomorrow.
