Last week, Notre Dame gave up its first rushing touchdown of the season against Oklahoma, but went on to win 30-13. Given that recent history, Florida should have expected a win today over Missouri after giving up its first touchdown against an SEC opponent at home in 2012 — a 1-yard run by Kendial Lawrence.
It was a cool streak while it lasted.
The Gators did get the win — 14-7 to be exact — but Will Muschamp‘s group is not one for aesthetics, it seems.
The Gators need to break out of this offensive slump. Jeff Driskel has just 106 yards passing and UF was actually outgained by Mizzou. But the difference was turnovers. The Tigers had four while the Gators had one.
Still, Mizzou is a weird team to be ending that defensive streak. The Tigers have been averaging less than 15 points a game in SEC play this season against teams not named Kentucky.
