Jim Mora puffs out his chest, flexes muscles at Twitter impostor

If you’ve ever wanted to know what gets underneath Jim Mora‘s skin besides media members being in the wrong place at the wrong time, you’re in luck.

Do not -- I repeat, do not -- pretend to be one of his players on Twitter. The UCLA coach will call you out and either 1) tie you to a blocking sled, or 2) put you in the center of an Oklahoma drill.

On Monday night, someone posing as freshman safety Randall Goforth began sending out tweets directed at USC receiver Robert Woods, prompting responses from Woods and others. Tuesday, Mora was asked about the account, which has since been deleted. Just before turning into the Hulk, Mora said the following from the L.A. Times:

“I think it’s a joke that someone would do that,” Mora said. “I think they are the lowest form of life. If you portray yourself as 18-year-old young man … trying to stir it up by attributing comments to him that are not his, I think you ought to go to jail.

“Bring his ass out here. He won’t make it very far with this team. He’s a coward. That’s what a coward does. I challenge that guy to come out here, whoever he is. He won’t. The guy’s a coward. Or girl, whoever it is.”

Mora even went as far as to call up USC coach Lane Kiffin to assure him it wasn’t a real thing.

While I don’t share the certain “come at me, bro” approach Mora employs, I would agree that Mora’s very much on point that anyone who seriously pretends to be someone else -- in other words, blatantly satiric Twitter accounts such as Dan Beebe are not only acceptable but encouraged -- is, in fact, a scumbag of the highest order.

That said, Mora’s been a big man before by throwing members of the school’s SID under the bus publicly, and reportedly, in front of his football team.

So, you know. People your own size, pick on ‘em.
