On a three-game slide and heading into Stillwater for a game against Oklahoma State this weekend, the last thing West Virginia needs is bad news of any kind. Yet, that’s exactly what they got Thursday afternoon.
Dana Holgorsen announced in a statement that freshman receiver Travares Copeland has left the team for personal reasons, but did not comment further. On his weekly radio show, Holgorsen said Copeland “just didn’t want to play football here anymore, I guess.”
Copeland did not record any stats for the first five games of the season, but had 10 catches for 55 yards in the past three games as part of the wide receiver rotation. He was a three-star member of WVU’s 2012 signing class.
