@rsmeans---I won't argue the SEC's dominance, although one would think they would schedule more quality outside competition to make it more obvious. I disagree that the most talented athletes are from the South, and that its entirely genetic. The best prep athletes come from Texas, actually, and knowledgeable recruiters have said you can't compete nationally without recruiting there. They simply spend enormous amounts statewide on prep football, and have better facilities than many colleges. Pass, catch, and defend competitions are led by parents throughout the summers. Just a thought, why must bowl games always be weather and locations that favor the warm SEC? It’s time to have some colder bowl games that favor tough cold weather teams.

--------------------------------------------------

It would be interesting to see an SEC team play in harsh weather. I'm one of those SEC homers, but it would be cool to see an SEC team out in frigid weather and harsh elements. That being said...

Where would you rather spend a cold, winter day around Christmas time if you had a vacation?

A) Any city in Florida or Texas
B) Any city in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana or Pennsylvania

If you have disposable income and vacation time, New Orleans or Tampa sounds a lot better than Detroit or Pittsburgh in December/January.

I understand your point (a valid one), but people are more inclined to go where the weather is warmer. Which is why a lot of retirees from the North migrate towards the South, and the opposite rarely happens.

This is why the South attracts more top notch recruits, and will continue to do so.

I love how you're bashing LSU for not destroying a couple of weaker opponents when ND needed 3 OTs just to scrape out a win over a horrible Pitt team. LSU's only 2 losses have come from top 5 teams and both of which could easily have been won by LSU.

Your delusional. U got beat by a Florida team that was lucky to survive ULL? Towson is a high school team that gave you trouble. Your coach has done less with more talent than any coach in the nation. U keep hanging your hat on that UW win though sweetheart. U can't have it both ways by bashing conferences like the PAC 12 but then gloating about an early season victory over a 6-4 Huskies team that impresses no one. Do your homework & see who has the best D vs the best competition. Then ask yourself which teams NEVER schedule FCS schools. I love your weak excuse about injuries, everyone deals w/ injuries you moron. ND is starting a WR & true freshman RB at each CB position. ND also doesn't have the luxury of over signing in recent years....luckily Slive put a stop to that in the SEC. You're loaded w/ more fatherless phenoms w/ learning disabilities than any team in the nation....and u still can't go undefeated. I thought y'all would do it last year, but your idiot savant HC screwed the pooch again. Now go back to your mommy's basement, reload the bong & go call Finebaum to cry how the SEC is still the greatest.

I was just correcting your retarded statement that our only quality win (and most people with more than 2 functioning neurons define that as against a ranked opponent) was against Ms State. We've actually beaten 3 BCS ranked teams. I'm sorry that you can't understand that.

You do realize that A&M has a brand new coach and has actually lost to 2 of our defenses, yes? Oh wait, since you're an idiot that didn't even know that LSU beat them at home a few weeks ago, you probably didn't know that, either.

And yes, we struggled early in the season against a couple of teams we should have blown out, mostly due to an inordinate number of injuries. What's your excuse for needing triple overtime to finally steal a win from a horrible Pitt?

Talk about hypocrites.

I'm an SEC fan, but even I find these ranking a bit absurd. All SEC teams ranked 4 through 9? Come on guys. That's a bit ridiculous. You mean to tell me that one-loss Florida State and Clemson should NOT be ranked ahead of TWO-loss SEC teams like A&M, South Carolina and LSU?

I'm also a Gator fan, and you're going to tell me that just because we beat 2 two-loss teams in LSU and A&M, we deserve to be ranked #6? Okay, nice road wins at A&M and LSU, and a home blowout of South Carolina, but where's the other "quality" wins? Struggle against Bowling Green. Struggle against Vanderbilt. Struggle against Missouri. Get lucky against UL-Lafayette. Heck, that game wasn't even against the entire state of Louisiana. It was only the LAFAYETTE part. Sorry, but we're overrated at #6. Top 10? Maybe.

But I will say this: for all of you making Notre Dame out to be among the elite, you better use the same argument you have for the over-ranking of some SEC teams... their body of work. Notre Dame beat Purdue (aka Pur-DON'T) by 3. Notre Dame beat Michigan by 7. Notre Dame beat BYU (BY-Who?) by 3. Notre Dame beat Stanford in OT by 7. Notre Dame beat Pitt (Pitt? Sh!t) by 3... in THREE overtimes. Oh, and ALL of these games were at HOME! Not exactly a Murderer's Row of challenges (NY Yankees reference thrown in for you older fans). Bottom line: yes, they've won, but they've dominated no one AT HOME. If it wasn't for their win at Oklahoma, no one would give them any props at all, because they haven't CONVINCINGLY beaten anyone, just like Florida hasn't convincingly beaten anyone either. Beat USC on the road... BY A LOT... then state your case.

I’m an SEC fan, but even I find these ranking a bit absurd. All SEC teams ranked 4 through 9? Come on guys. That’s a bit ridiculous. You mean to tell me that one-loss Florida State and Clemson should NOT be ranked ahead of TWO-loss SEC teams like A&M, South Carolina and LSU?

I’m also a Gator fan, and you’re going to tell me that just because we beat 2 two-loss teams in LSU and A&M, we deserve to be ranked #6? Okay, nice road wins at A&M and LSU, and a home blowout of South Carolina, but where’s the other “quality” wins? Struggle against Bowling Green. Struggle against Vanderbilt. Struggle against Missouri. Get lucky against UL-Lafayette. Heck, that game wasn’t even against the entire state of Louisiana. It was only the LAFAYETTE part. Sorry, but we’re overrated at #6. Top 10? Maybe.

But I will say this: for all of you making Notre Dame out to be among the elite, you better use the same argument you have for the over-ranking of some SEC teams… their body of work. Notre Dame beat Purdue (aka Pur-DON’T) by 3. Notre Dame beat Michigan by 7. Notre Dame beat BYU (BY-Who?) by 3. Notre Dame beat Stanford in OT by 7. Notre Dame beat Pitt (Pitt? Sh!t) by 3… in THREE overtimes. Oh, and ALL of these games were at HOME! Not exactly a Murderer’s Row of challenges (NY Yankees reference thrown in for you older fans). Bottom line: yes, they’ve won, but they’ve dominated no one AT HOME. If it wasn’t for their win at Oklahoma, no one would give them any props at all, because they haven’t CONVINCINGLY beaten anyone, just like Florida hasn’t convincingly beaten anyone either. Beat USC on the road… BY A LOT… then state your case.

When all is said and done the two best teams in the country are Alabama and LSU. With Texas AM and South Carolina at 3rd and fourth but given the crazy way the Harris and Coaches Polls are constructed none will probably be in the NC game. Let's be serious the Big10, Big 12, PAC 12 do not have a single team that could compete with the elite in the SEC. When the 2014 playoffs come you will see two SEC teams in the NC practically every year. The most important reason is that the most talented players are in Florida, Georgia, Alabama Lousiana and South Carolina. The TCU coach put it best when he said that SEC based players simply have better genes and hence dominate.

Shoot I guess I was wrong about who will play in this year's BCS game.
So instead of Bama vs LSU this year, it will be Bama vs Florida...
Why you say?
Every body will lose at least one game this year after its all said and done, leaving Bama and Florida as the number one and two in the BCS ranking and the World is right again.
God Bless and Geaux Tigers!!!

And yet, it was the SEC that has wanted a playoff for years. Wonder why that is? Oh! Prolly because our worst teams could (and have) beat your best teams.

Oregon and K-State would have at least 2 losses in a real conference.

But hey, be thankful that you have one more year.

(BTW Oregon in particular has had at least 2 opportunities to beat an SEC team. They, um, how do I put this in lightly, failed).

Failed.

Failed.

Yes, I love saying it, you losers outside of the SEC fail.
