Louisville’s leading rusher done for the year with ACL tear

As if losing to Syracuse on the road wasn’t bad enough for Louisville, the Cardinals have also lost their leading rusher for the season.

Charlie Strong announced during his Monday press conference that junior running back Senorise Perry has a torn ACL and is done for the year. Jeremy Wright, the team’s second-leading rusher, and Corvin Lamb will shoulder the load in the Cardinals’ running game going forward.

“We have to see how we stack up at running back,” Strong said. “If we have to use Dominique [Brown] we will.”

Perry had 705 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season. Louisville’s undefeated season is no more, but the Big East title could still come down to the Cardinals’ season-ending game against Rutgers.
