Just what the Washington State football program, another off-field distraction.

Regardless, that’s where Mike Leach finds himself as linebacker Chester Su’a (pictured, No. 45), the Spokane Spokesman-Review reported, was arrested Friday afternoon for failure to appear.

Su’a was charged with misdemeanor hit-and-run in late July but failed to appear for a court appearance.  That failure to appear triggered a warrant being issued for his arrest.

The school is aware of the arrest and said the matter would be handled internally.

The sophomore has played in nine games this season and is eighth on the Cougars in tackles.  He’s been credited with 3.5 tackles for loss and one sack.
