Texas A&M police issued a release Wednesday that freshman wide receiver Thomas Johnson has been missing since 5 p.m. Monday evening when he was seen leaving his residence. Johnson is described as a “black male, 18 years of age, 5’11,” 180 lbs., black hair and brown eyes… wearing a black jacket, black shorts and grey shoes.” He has family in the Dallas area and may have been traveling there.

Below is a statement from Aggies coach Kevin Sumlin:
“All of us are obviously very concerned about the safety and well-being of Thomas Johnson, who has been missing since Monday evening. Authorities are working closely with his family, friends and law enforcement agencies to help locate him. Thomas is a tremendous student-athlete, greatly admired by his fellow teammates and all of us on the coaching staff. If anyone has any current information about him or knows of his whereabouts, please contact his family or law enforcement authorities immediately. We pray for his quick and safe return.”
Johnson, the team’s third-leading receiver, has 30 catches for 339 yards and one touchdown this season. He had three catches for 22 yards against Alabama.
Updated 11/15 @9:15 a.m. ET: Thankfully, there will be no worst-case scenarios in this story. Johnson has been found safely by University police, according to the Dallas Morning News.
“[Johnson's mother] told WFAA-TV she had traveled from Dallas to College Station as authorities searched for her son. Meanwhile, Johnson turned up 180 miles to the north, in Dallas,” the DMN reports. “Hanks says Johnson has not contacted her since his disappearance and that she had no other information.”
