Look at the BCS rankings, coach, and then realize that all those teams with a loss have to play each other. Oregon plays who? USC? and gives up 50+ points.

Like I said, play in a real conference, or better yet, play a team in a real conference and win just once.

You’ve had a couple of tries, neither of them worked out very well for ya.

As much as I HATE Alabama, you really better hope ND and/or K-State win out. Else you’ll be 0-3.

@coach – So in saying that because you watched every Oregon game twice, the 1st string defensive players didn’t play. Whatever. I’d stake my position on hard information rather than a Duck fan who is otherwise convinced.

Frankly I really don’t understand the reason that the Duck fanbase is collectively so sensitive about their defense. I presume there is some sort of insecurity complex but then I really don’t care.

No one disagree y’all guys got a good team up there, not even the odds maker.
But if your best argument is who has Pac12 beaten outside their Conference is Oregon State over Wisconsin, thats weak..
And no, Stanford wouldn’t have won that game against ND if the called was reverse, Stanford would still have to convert a point conversion just to tie the game, then It would have gone to overtime and from we would never know what would happen, maybe Stanford win or maybe this is just a moot point.
If you haven’t notice everybody’s beating on the B10 this year, even the MAC..
With that said, if Oregon goes undefeated then relax, you’ll be playing in the NCG.
Just hope it’s ND or KSU you’ll be facing and not Bama or GA because we all know what will happen then, so enjoy what your team has accomplished so far and stop worrying about who has the better conference or the strongest schedule.

“If Oregon ever plays a descent schedule” Hum. Lets see, Alabama had not played anyone decent until LSU and was lucky they won. The next Week what happened. The PRO SEC boasters can not explain why they lost with the only challenges to date.
DESPERATE : Well in all honesty, being a Diehard
Duck fan, there is cause for concern. OREGON has tremendous amount of injuries so any reasonable fan would be.
As far as schedule : Who have the PAC 12 played non conference and beat. OSU beat Wisconsin, Stanford should have won against ND (it was close) Arizona did well as well as USC which are both playing for PAC 12 South and Oregon will have to play Standford, OSU, and the winner of the South. I laugh at your living in the past. Oregon has not won out yet. DUH. They are not the one’s making the odds. Somebody besides Oregon and their fans give them that Chance.

coachdeforrest: You sound really desperate. Maybe if Oregon ever plays a decent schedule they will get some respect. I love watching their offense but their defense is downright offensive. It will be nice to one day have a true playoff (instead of a BCS +1, which is an improvement over the current system but still not a true playoff), because Oregon couldn’t beat Alabama, LSU or Georgia. I know it, you know it and your mama knows it.

Believe what you want but review of the play by play summaries validates my comments. Perhaps you want to investigate why first team Defensive players supposedly sitting on the sidelines are being recorded as making tackles. Could it be that they are doing so mentally?

Secucks, I have watched every quarter or every Duck game and your numbers are incorrect. Arkansas St., Tennessee Tech, Arizona State, Washington State, Arizona, and Washington the defense played the back ups in the 4th quarter.

The only concession I’ll make is how the Nike Marketing machine was able to create an impression that the Ducks Defense has improved. That depth exists on the O and not the D. Ergo why else would Kelly be having at least two of his key offensive players practice witht the defense?

Oregon’s Defense might be marginally better than last year but don’t kid yourself as they are average at best. Ranked at #46 in team defense and that was against a cupcake schedule. Any before anyone starts in on how this was agains the 3rd and 4th string, those that actually paid attention would have saw there were TWO GAMES that the Defensive Starters did not play in the 4th quarter, TWO GAMES those starters did not play the last series and SIX GAMES where they played WIRE to WIRE. Duck Fans who believe that the coaches were pulling everyone early are drinking the Nike Kool Aide (or smoking something).

I might add that the USC game for Oregon is when their injuries really started mounding up. It is a question mark looking forward. We will see how good of a team Oregon is how they handle these injuries and if they are really as deep as it looks like they are. All teams suffer in the same way. The mark of a great team is how they overcome. We all may be singing a different song after Saturday. If they can win,and win with replacement players, it will say a lot.

Well seacucks, I dont see a lot of teams running around with Matt Barkely at QB and the receivers they have. That is the only team who has come within 2 touchdowns. Arizona had the 3rd best passing and I think they were 4th in rushing when Oregon playythem. It was 43-0 when Oregon cleared their bench letting all these backups who will be playing now play. Oregon had one game where they did not totally dominate defensively. WSU might be considered but their points again were scored after Oregon started bringing in the bench.

Ahhhhhh, remember when everyone defended Oregon saying this year they have a good defense to go with the offense? Ummmm NO!

Offense is glaringly explosive but the defense has 1 test ALLLL season USC …. 50+ points? Come on man. Hawaii held them to less.

ND is the best defense in the top 3 by far(country even maybe) by comparison the worst scoring offense in the top 3.

KSU prob the most balanced team of the 3.

ND and KSU BOTH won at Oklahoma, KSU by 5 and ND in a blowout.

KSU, ALA and ND all more impressive teams to me, Oregon is playing their first top 10 defense, #1 run D in country, I think SAT will reveal a lot about Oregon, time will tell but I feel Oregon will lose in an upset.

While the odds of Oregon making it to the NC game may be 1/1, USC proved that the Duck’s D cannot keep up with a decent offense. An opposing team balanced on both sides of the ball will absolutely give Oregon a run for the money. With the number of injuries Oregon sustained already and playing Stanford this weekend it is quite possible that they will lose 3-5 more players to injuries. Oregon’s desperation is showing given that they have been practicing their immediate backup QB and DeAnthony Thomas on defense.

OH here we go: “One of the three”. Are you kidding me. Since the BCS is mostly PRO SEC I guess for the next 2 years to be extraordinary in the PRO BCS BS. REALLY? Pac-12 better worry about one of their teams finishing in the top 14 or the only Pac-12 team playing in the BCS this season will be the Ducks if they go undefeated. No Rose Bowl ? Sounds like 2011 again.
