Denard or Devin? Tune in after Michigan’s pregame warmups

For those curious as to who will start at quarterback for Michigan Saturday, you’ll have to wait a handful of hours.

Four-year starter Denard Robinson has missed the past two games due to an elbow injury.  In his place came Devin Gardner, the erstwhile quarterback turned wide receiver and back from whence he came whose play has been, well, a revelation in both the present and what it may bode post-Denard.

As has been the case the past two weeks leading into games that Robinson has ultimately missed, head coach Brady Hoke played coy as to which direction the Wolverines will go at the position.  In a video posted on the team’s official website, and when asked about the quarterback situation, Hoke declared it “day to day.”

The final decision for who will be under center when Michigan takes the field against Iowa? “We’ll find out after warmups,” Hoke said, referring to the pregame on-field festivities at the Big House.

While Hoke is still be holding his QB cards close to his chest, he may have already tipped his hand.  Earlier in the week, the UM coach allowed that putting Robinson in for a single play on Senior Day, to acknowledge what he’s meant to the football program over the past four years, is something he has thought about.

Here’s to hoping that, if Robinson is indeed unable to make a go of it for a full game, he lines up at QB on Michigan’s first offensive snap.  Then, and as the player would likely want, the Wolverines can go about the business of battling the Hawkeyes without worrying about wedging in a well-deserved, one-play tribute later on in what may or may not be a close contest for a team that still holds Big Ten Legends aspirations.

Denard should play on Senior day…. Devin should be QB even if Denard is healthy.

Devin is a true QB. Denard would be an awesome threat at wide out, with explosive reverse capability.

    Either way… GO BLUE!
