Congrats rebel fan, you should be proud. That was a fun game and Ole Miss definitely came to play. One less turnover may have resulted in a win. Very impressed with Hugh Freeze. Good luck in the Egg Bowl and beyond!

Now just a darn minute. When your team plays 5 top 20 teams and and plays them tough, then talk to me about scheduling in the SEC. This is our first year with a new coach and I am so proud of how hard we have played and how far we have come. I really hate how we are viewed as a lower class type of team because we don't have a 9 win season every year.

@Deb
Looks like we were correct, the NC will more then likely come out of the winners of the LSU/Bama game.
Every year people Bi?ch and complain about SEC schools in the BCSNCG but what do they do with the chance of completely shutting the SEC schools out of it? CHOKE!!!
There is a small chance that it might be sec vs sec..., a very very small chance.

Looks like I hit a sore spot, given your immature name calling and such. You're right, I don’t' watch every football game I’m only limited to what the Show an ESPN / ABC /CBS, etc. I haven't watched Florida State play every week, because I'm busy watching other more entertaining games. I could easily say the same thing about you using your same assumptions. UGA started always starts slow. Starting slow isn't a criterion that determines how good or bad a team is or how better another team is, results matter. They put up 45 points without trying; despite how slow they started Georgia Southern is a triple option team. How many triple option teams does UGA face on a regular basis? The answer is once a year, GT. A triple option offense is a little different egg to crack then what they normally face, especially if you only have a week (-) to get prepared. So yes, it took a couple of series to adjust to the style of play on the defensive side of the ball. Clemson and FSU getting hosed? How? You are like the many fans out there that don't understand the polls so you instead of trying to understand why Clemson or FSU is ranked where they are, you chastise it. Yes Clemson lost to FSU; however what was their best win? They haven't won against a top 25 team all year. They struggled to beat Auburn by 5 points. The same Auburn team that's 0-7 in the SEC. FSU lost to NC State, they started off slow against VT and UM. FSU has been inconsistent all year. Clemson and FSU have 2 loss teams a head of them. Why? You could argue because each of those 2-loss teams has beaten a top 10 team. LSU and A&M have beaten at least 3 top 25 teams, FSU and Clemson also have weaker SOS then the three 2-loss teams above them. But last, if FSU or Clemson were to play those 2-loss teams neither one would be an overwhelming favorite, more so they would be an underdog. Clemson is a 4 point favorite at home versus SC. That’s not a lot. Florida and Florida State are damn near even. So what’s the point? Other than FSU or Clemson having 1-loss, there’s no justification to having them ranked above three BETTER 2-loss teams. And on paper, those 2-loss are better than your 1-loss teams. We will find out on the field this weekend. FSU hasn’t faced top defense, Florida has. Clemson faced a top defense and lost that game.

This whole thing just feels wierd to me... It was only 2 weeks ago when Alabama got beat down by Texas A&M and here they are in the NC conversation. Now I have said in the past, I still think Bama is the best program right now, but to have lost, at home when they did? With Georgia, they are very impressive sometimes, most of the time, other times it look like ANYONE can take them out, but they are top 4?

@ normtide: Go to the NCAACFB page of nbcsports.msnbc.com and see who has their own page, every year, even when they are suckling on the hind teat. There is no LSU Central page, no Oregon Central poge, no Kansas State Central page and certainly no Alabama Central page.

There is that perennial cadre of sports punditry who have a Notre Dame fetish and will sing the praises of the Irish far, wide and loud even if ND can't beat a rug.

I guess they've seen Knute Rockne, All-American so many times they think it's a documentary.

But- they've earned it so far, so we'll see how it plays out from here.

@Norm,

Good point, but let's remember ALL great programs have had their down times. I don't need to remind u of Bill Curry, Ray Perkins, Mike DuBose, Dennis Franchione, Mike Price or Mike Shula just as no one needs to remind me of Gerry Faust, Bob Davie, Ty Willingham or Charlie Weis.

While u seem to be one of the few knowledgeable CFB fans on here, most can't tell us who the HC that preceded the HC who turned around the following programs (w/o Google mind you). Just ask avg fan to name the following coaches:

@ Texas between Darrell Royal & Mack Brown
@ Florida before Spurrier (ex Paterno asst)
@ LSU before Saban (former Domer All-American)
@ USC before Carroll (no, it wasn't John Robinson)
@ OU between Switzer & Stoops

Deb,

I think you're confusing ND fans from your fellow Bama fans. It was reported on XM that Bama was already claiming their 113th NC Saturday night after #s 1 & 2 lost.

As an ND fan I'm biased, but we've been away too long from championship talk to be that arrogant. Bama fans & SEC fans however think that winning the last six BCS titles (do all the SEC teams get rings ;)?) means that they're entitled to win this year regardless of performance.

ND has some weak teams on their schedule like Navy, Purdue & BC. At least their D1 teams are from a BCS conference or an independent. I'll take blowout wins over a bowl bound Navy or close wins over a bad Purdue & Pitt team vs close wins over FCS schools like Towson or Sun Belt schools like ULL & WKU.

Bama is a great team w/ a great coach. Their fans (not all...but definitely Finebaum Nation) love to criticize ND over their schedule regardless of the fact that their own schedule includes wins over unimpressive teams like: Western KY, Florida Atlantic, Western Carolina, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miss St, Mizzou & Auburn.

I'm guessing Bama's biggest win is over LSU @ Baton Rouge. NDs would be over OU @ Norman or Stanford @ home. Baton Rouge & Norman are both near impossible places to win. But then LSU has trouble putting an FCS team like Towson away and beats a 1-11 Auburn 12-10. I'm just saying...if you live in a glass house, wait until the season is over to see how it plays out.

gamustangdude: I'm going to assume you don't watch much football, since your post was so asinine. First, I live in Tuscaloosa NOT Tallahassee, but even I can see teams like Clemson and FSU getting hosed by this system. Clemson lost one game to a top ten opponent, and they're ranked behind two loss teams or teams that lost to unranked opponents. Georgia started slow against Ga. Southern and UF needed a miracle to make it past UL-L, K-St got thrashed by an unranked Baylor, and LSU barely got by Ole Miss and has looked underwhelmingly mediocre. And as for the the polls that you say "know" FSU is so over rated, umm the coaches poll has them at 5, and the AP doesn't even count towards the BCS--the others are the cpu's, which are so unbelievably off base that one has a one loss team behind a FOUR loss team. Try doing your homework before calling someone out--oh, fyi-a dissenting opinion isn't necessarily wrong just because some hick calls it "crying".
